IFS Consultation for Therapists

6 Sessions – Fridays 12-2pm ET
9/18, 10/16, 11/13, 12/11, 1/15, 2/19
Group held virtually via secure video platform.
$100 per group or $500 for all six.
Must commit to attending at least 4 groups. Limited to 6 participants maximum.
Level 1 or higher required.
Hours count toward IFS certification if applicable.
Level 1 trainings are excellent at covering the building blocks of the IFS model and can sometimes feel life-changing. Even for those of us who felt confident in our skills in the training context, we will likely get stuck as we work with a variety of real-world clients. As we encounter complex systems we realize that there are a lot of layers to truly mastering the IFS model.
We need to practice the fundamental skills (the “scales or “dance” moves), deepen awareness of our own systems, expand our repertoire of interventions, become more efficient at addressing protector concerns and clarify our case conceptualizations.
Consultation is one of the best ways to build confidence and get the model “in your bones”. The more you work with your own system and explore stuck points in the work, the deeper you will be able to go with clients.
I offer individual and group clinical consultation for level 1 or higher IFS therapists. As an IFS-I approved clinical consultant, these hours can generally count toward requirements for IFS certification. I also welcome more advance practitioners for deepening and additional support. I have over a decade of experience working with trauma, relationship dynamics and many other topics. I have been practicing IFS for more than 6 years.
Objectives of Consultation
- Working through stuck points.
- Deepening relationships with therapist parts.
- Expanding creativity in addressing protector concerns.
- Creating clear therapeutic contracts and case conceptualization.
- Working with highly polarized systems and systems where a single part is dominant and blended most of the time.
- Knowing when to use direct access and to learning flow more seamlessly between direct access and in-sight.
- Role-playing your clients to see how others might work with them.
- Guided practice time and feedback.
